This wall-hanging mobile is a direct result of repurposing, obsession, & creativity.

Originally this was a mirror found on the street. After years of use, I reconfigured the glass to act as a canvas for a variegated copper sheet I was a little obsessed with.

Each piece of glass was hand-cut and tumbled to a soft finish with a magic capacity to capture light and seemingly glow. The variegated copper sheet, like gold leaf, was applied by hand to each piece. I experimented with the width and texture while applying the copper leaf. Now each piece flashes like a metallic glass scale in the light.

Next, I chose three pieces of driftwood to serve as banners for three layouts of these metallic glass scales. The driftwood dictated the width, length, and composition of each hanging. With careful skill and precision, I then strung each piece of glass using fishing line and double knots to create these unique pieces.

When I view these I see the following;
Revival, Play, Desert Sunsets, and a hit of Miami Vice.

There are 20 pieces of woman-made tumbled sea glass in this mobile. The many hours of labor that go into making a piece of this size are done with love and it shows.

I recommend hanging this in a highly visible, sunny spot indoors. Against a nice white wall is best. The sound of the glass is very delicate and charming, in a light breeze, the sound is lovely. This piece is delicate and should be kept out of reach of children and pets.
